SMART INSIGHT CORPORATION to begin shipping SMART/InSight® G2 V2.6.0

SMART INSIGHT CORPORATION (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Kiyoshi Machida, hereinafter “SMART INSIGHT”) will shortly begin shipping the latest version of SMART/InSight G2, V2.6.0.
Targeted principally at the manufacturing industry, SMART/InSight G2 is a search application enabling analysis that goes beyond structured and unstructured data. A key component of this latest version is its release as a fully-fledged analysis application, with a high-capacity aggregation function implemented in the form of a multi-dimensional navigator.
This version was adopted by Asahi Kasei Engineering’s “FPM” (Factory Performance Management) system; FPM is an application that can analyze loss-costs in the plant from operational management system data, Excel files on a file server, or core systems data, resulting in efficient plant loss-cost management. The multi-dimensional navigator function makes it easy to create aggregations in the same format that would otherwise take two months of manual work, and assists discovery and analysis of the causes of loss through the Cross-tab (where any items can be selected and aggregated in two dimensions) and the Data Chain (which allows cross-searching of causes of trouble in other databases). The system was awarded the Development Award in the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance’s 2014 Awards for TPM® Excellence in December of last year.


We expect the multidimensional navigator to prove useful for the manufacturing industry in fields other than loss-cost analysis, such as quality analysis, aggregation tasks when analyzing causes of trouble in the design field, and areas such as procurement cost analysis. We believe it will also be of use for customer information analysis in the distribution and retail service industries.
As well as the multi-dimensional navigator, SMART InSight G2 V2.6.0 features an improved installer, greater functionality in File Crawler, and improvements in usability. It has become a user-friendly product not only for end users but also for system administrators.
